A porcelain covered baluster vase with Imari decoration mounted in bronze, Japan, Arita kilns, 18th century The body covered with blue enamel underglaze with gilded floral scrolls, chrysanthemums in red and gold overglaze and polychrome enamelled panels in reserves. Two on the upper part of the body decorated with lake landscapes animated with pines, waterfall, rocks, mountains and pavilion, and two on the lower part in the form of tanzaku decorated with vine shoots and wisteria. A frieze of peony flowers and foliage in red and gold on a white background on the shoulder. The lid decorated with four reserves alternating a decoration of two carps among seaweeds and lakescapes on a background similar to the vase, two floral friezes around the handle. 19th century European gilt bronze mount Total height : 66 cm Cracks inside the lid and around the handle.
