Achille DEVÉRIA (1800-1857). L.A.S., [1827?],... - Lot 16 - Ader
Achille DEVÉRIA (1800-1857). L.A.S., [1827?], to Alcide de Beauchesne; half-page in-4, address (small tear due to broken seal). He sends him a drawing for Sosthènes de La Rochefoucauld (1785-1864, director of fine arts) "in exchange for my drawing of the Golden Fleece [...] If he accepts the deal you will be kind enough to return the other one as soon as possible." [This may be his watercolor Philippe le Bon, Duke of Burgundy, passing the necklace of the Golden Fleece around his mistress's neck which he presented at the 1827 Salon]. A L.A.S. from his brother Eugène DEVÉRIA (1805-1865) to the same (1 page in-8), about an approach for a "postulant": "Do me the favor of doing everything you can. You will do your friend a favor"...
