Rare signed miniature Qur'an, Ottoman Empire, 19th centuryManuscript on coated paper with 30 lines of text per page in Arabic in brown ink in naskhi calligraphy. Manuscript richly illuminated with gold on the double frontispiece, the verse separators, the marginal ornaments, the final colophon framed by two medallions. Signed on the colophon in a hexagonal cartouche Hassan al-Shahir bil-Tughra'i [?], a pupil of Salah al-Na'ili [?] known as Hafez el-Qur'an, and written in the month of Ramadan. Bound in brown morocco flap with embossed decoration of a floral net enhanced with gold. With its green velvet case. 3,7 x 2,7 cmAccidents , strong wear of the case .
