AUVERGNE. Manuscript land register, Lieue... - Lot 352 - Ader
AUVERGNE. Manuscript land register, Lieue terrienne de Montz, [XVIIe-XVIIIe siècle]; 241 fol. pages plus blank ff., in beige basane cover (worn) with remains of laces. This Lieue terrienne des centz rantes et revenus qui deppandent de la Seigneurie de Montz was taken from the terrier received by Jacques Barjon notary of Saint-Georges Orceyrolles. Beautiful terrier for about twenty places of the lordship of Montz or Mons, in Auvergne. The fortified castle of Montz (or Mons), in Puy-en-Velay, was inherited by Marie-Isabeau Spert in the middle of the 17th century; as an only child, she married Jacques-Hubert Pradier d'Angrain, lieutenant general of the seneschal of Puy, whose name appears on these pages. The last marginal updates are dated 1783. The register opens with a "Reppertoire" of places, most of which are in the present department of Haute-Loire, and a few in Puy-de-Dôme or Cantal: Orceyrolles, Theux, Mondolioux, Doulioux-Daurat, Antreulz (Antreuil), Bougernes, Craponne, Poupenac, Fraisse, Fraisse Marchadial, Longefont, Pinet, Montpeyroux, Saint-Georges [Lagricol], La Branchade, Arsac, Sassac, Besses...
