"Since I was not allowed to render my duties to V. Ma. myself by giving me the happiness of seeing her in Dunkerke as proposed, I did not want to miss sending sieur Thinne to witness to V. Ma. the sensitive displeasure I have in not having had him, and at the same time to assure him of the continuation of my very humble respects"...
