Dialogue between two elegant women: "Ah see how inconvenient these new dresses with tails are, here is a gentleman on your dress! ⸻ On the contrary it is admirable! I'm going to drag him home!"
Reflection of a bourgeois to another, of small size, about the crinoline: "Say so my dear! It is boring for you this fashion! You can't take them by the waist anymore"
November 8, 1857, to a publisher, acknowledging receipt of a payment. "I hope you will find the stones to your liking. If you have any alterations to make I put myself at your disposal. [....] It remains for me now to wish you the most success possible with my album"...
