Roger DÉSORMIÈRE (1898-1963). Autograph musical manuscripts, several of them signed. Important set on Désormière's studies with Charles Koechlin and with his first works. Fugue and Counterpoint (about 180 ff., mostly in-fol.). Important set of Désormière's musical studies, under the direction of Charles Koechlin: fugues and exercises on subjects by Bach, Th. Dubois, Fauré, A. Gedalge, Halévy, Onslow, Purcell, H. Rabaud, A. Thomas, etc.; autograph mss (one signed) of drafts and clearings. About thirty leaves are corrected and annotated by Charles Koechlin. With 14 autograph manuscripts of Charles KOECHLIN: subjects of fugues, detailed comments. Le Moulin, after Verhaeren, dedicated to Claude Maître, autograph ms signed and dated Paris April 1916, for viola and harp (6 p. in-fol.); 2 other mss a.s. for flute (one corrected to viola with corrections) and harp, dated May 1916 (6 p. in-fol. each); copyist ms; autograph orchestral material signed for an orchestral version intended for the Rouge concerts. Le Bain de Môssieu, for small ensemble (5 p. in-fol.), autograph ms signed and dated Paris January 1917, dedicated to Jean Marimian. Piece for flute and piano, autograph ms dated April 1917 (4 p. in-fol. on gold-framed paper). Small poem for string quartet, autograph ms signed and dated Paris March 1917, dedicated to Thérèse Combarieu (6 p. in-fol.), plus the 4 autograph parts. A Sonnet by Ronsard. Autograph parts, for orchestra and voices (22 p. in-fol.). Divertissement, for small ensemble. Ms autograph (5 p. in-fol.), and version for reed tyrio (3 p.). Gde danse d'Olympia, autograph drafts (5 p. in-fol.). Waltz for piano, autograph ms (3 p. in-fol.). [Désormière conducted these Quatrains in June 1923, during a lecture by Erik Satie at the Collège de France].
