MOSCOW 1783 The three icons mounted in a later brass frame of the nineteenth century. The velvet on the back of each icon is contemporary with the mounting. Tempera on wood. Oklad embossed and engraved in vermeil. The central panel represents the Deisis with the Christ of Glory in the center and with the Mother of God on the left and Saint John the Precursor on the right, surmounted by two angels. The left pane presents in the upper row three saints of Petchersk - St. John the Suffering, St. Theodosius and St. Anthony and in the lower row St. John the Warrior, St. John (Metropolitan of Kiev?), the Prophet Elijah and St. Nicholas the Thaumaturgist. The right flap presents in the upper row Saint Nikita, Saint Mary Magdalene and Saint Pelagia and in the lower row Saint John Climacus, Saint Alexander, Saint Stephen (Stephen) Archdeacon and Saint Alexis the Man of God.
