FRANCOIS-GILBERT BOCQUET (1874-1955) Épineux, circa 1904-05, a slight variation of a cup in the Musée d'Orsay, our work presented at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, Paris, 1905 Silver cup on a tripod base with a circular spacer. The title decoration treated in repoussé on the cup and continuing in volutes to end in lanceolate feet. The edges of the spacer and the cup are finished with finely chiseled motifs. Signed F. BOCQUET on the reverse and bears the hallmark of guarantee. Height : 12 cm - Length : 25,8 cm Weight : 805,1 g Public collection : Musée d'Orsay, Paris - A very similar bowl, made in 1904 and exhibited at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, Paris, 1905, is preserved in the collections of this institution under the inventory number DO19777.
