Statue called menhir representing a face The face, rectangular, is drawn in hollow with a nose-brow block in relief just like the eyes. The round mouth is also in relief. It is surrounded by summary motifs representing the hair. Limestone and reddish pigments. Southern France, Late Neolithic (3600-3300 B.C.). Height : 22 cm Provenance: Maurice Fenaille Collection (1855-1937), then by descent. The Fenaille Museum in Rodez has many similar objects.
