Six glassworks, Iran, 19th-20th century In blue blown glass, a pourer with a gadrooned body, a sprinkler with a long ribbed tapered neck and four elegant bottles with sinuous swan necks, one of a lighter blue. Height : 17 to 35,3 cm According to poetic tradition, swan-necked bottles were used in Iran as lachrymatory vessels or "tear vessels" ("ashkdan") to collect the sorrows of wives separated from their husbands.
