Raja on parade, North India, Rajasthan, circa 1800 Pigments and gold on paper depicting a raja with a face nimbed in green and gold, richly dressed in a red and gold jama and adorned with numerous jewels, riding a horse in procession to the right surrounded by the following holding a flyswatter, a parade stick and a canopy. Large red margin inscribed in the upper part of a nagari line in black ink. Size of the painting : 50,5 x 39,6 cm Polychromy jumps, small restorations, glued back. Provenance: Probably the Royal Collection of Mewar An Equestrian Portrait of a Raja, North India, Rajasthan, c. 1800 Private collection in Paris from 1975 to 2000 - first part (lots 120 to 173).
