Portrait of Raja Bakhat Singh, North India, Rajasthan, Marwar, Jodhpur, ca. 1750
Pigments and gold on paper depicting the raja cross-legged on a terrace with a flower bed, sheltered by a canopy. Leaning on cushions, he is turned to the right, dressed in apple green with mauve pants with floral decoration, his talwar on the ground. Behind him, three followers hold a talwar, a rondache and a chauri fly swatter to fan him. Inscription "Jodhpur" in nagari in purple ink above the canopy.
