Three tiles with cruciform floral decoration, Tunisia, Qallaline, 18th century Earthenware covering tiles with painted decoration of two large composite flowers flanked by palmettes arranged face to face and forming a cross with two open rosettes. Dim. tile : about 14,5 x 15 cm We join a tile with decoration of composite flower framed by two leaves saz and tulips, decorative poncification observable in the mosque of the Barber of Kairouan. 21,1 x 20,6 cm Chips, traces of beads, trimmed corners, traces of paint on one. These types of tiles with the decoration commonly called "Turki" are known in several Tunisian monuments such as the Palace of the Rose of Manouba (1798) or the Zawiya Sidi Kacem El-Jellizi of Tunis as well as in museums such as the Bardo Museum of Tunis or the Louvre Museum (OA 4047 / 35-38).
