Two baluster vases, Tunisia, Nabeul, De Verclos workshop, 1920-50 In earthenware with painted decoration. The first, vase hadj with flat handles in wings connecting a baluster belly surmounted with a cylindrical collar. Decorated with a frieze of poly-lobed mandorles deployed on the body between two friezes of colored spindles. The neck decorated with a ribbed plant stem and a frieze of ocelli continued on the handles. The second, a vase with intermediate bridge handles flanking a balustered body finished with a hemmed neck. Decorated with a frieze of fleurons sprouting from a blue wavy stem, two bands of colored scales on either side, a frieze of ocelli on the handles. Both signed in Arabic at the base of the body: "De Verclos, Qallal al-Qadim, Nabeul" and "De Verclos Nabeul" under the base of the second. Height: 29 cm and 22 cm A chip at the neck, some chips at the base of the first and tiny chips at the corners of the handles of the second.
