Three pieces of earthenware decorated with tawq necklaces, Tunisia, Nabeul, first quarter of the 20th century The first, a charbiya water jar signed 'Abderrazak, with an ovoid body surmounted by a cylindrical neck flanked by two handles; the second, a dawraq gargoyle attributed to Trouillet, with an ovoid body surmounted by a bulbous neck flanked by two handles; the third, a two-handled vase in the form of an amphora with a long ovoid body on a circular pedestal, with a cylindrical neck marked by a projection from which two curved handles emerge, and finished with a flared lip. All three in earthenware with painted decoration in cobalt blue, antimony yellow, copper green and manganese brown on a white background of a wide band of tawqs decorated with scales or colored compartments on a large part of the body, a frieze of colored spindles on the shoulder, vertical stripes or spindles on the neck and horizontal stripes on the handles. Inscription in Arabic "El-Qallaline" at the base of each body, decorated with the leaf motif of the 'Abderrazak family on one piece, the five-pointed star and the crescent moon attributed to Maurice Trouillet on another. Height: 36 cm, 30,5 cm and 37 cm Small chips, fel on the neck of the jar, chips on the lip of the gargoyle, firing bubbles, chips on the foot of the amphora vase.
