EMPIRE OF MEXICO ORDER OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE (1822). Large patent of officer of the order on paper, in the name of captain Louis Raphael VILLAIN, captain in the 2nd regiment of zouaves. Signed on January 21, 1865, including that of Emperor Maximilian. Via of the Grand Chancellery of the Legion of Honor. Dry stamps of the Empire of Mexico and the order of Guadalupe. 60 x 43 cmB .E . History : Louis Raphael Émile VILLAIN (1828-1912) . Soldier then St Cyrien (Promotion of Kabylie). He served in the line infantry and in the Zouaves. He participated in all the campaigns (Africa, Crimea, Italy, Mexico, Franco-Prussian war). He was wounded four times in his career. His nomination as officer in the Order of Guadalupe occurred shortly before his head injury at the battle of Puebla. He ended his career as a general, grand officer of the Legion of Honor.
