Collection of plays.
Beauvais, Paris, [1856]-1865. - 11 pamphlets bound in one volume in-8, brown morocco, two cold filets on the boards, cold EP figure in the center of the first board, spine decorated with cold filets, gilt border inside, gilt edges (period binding).
Interesting collection of rare texts, mainly plays, attributed to Albert Desjardins (1838-1897), moralist, professor at the Faculty of Law in Paris, member of the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences. They were mostly printed in Beauvais by Pierre-Achille Desjardins.
They are occasional pieces or texts certainly published privately and not put in the market for the most part.

- Pieces of verse read at the Saint-Charlemagne banquet of the Lycée impérial Louis-Le-Grand, February 2, 1856. S.l., [1856]. - (1 f.), 8 pp. (1 blank f.).
Includes two pieces in verse, the first in Latin signed J. de Chantepie, the second in French by Desjardins.

Beautiful copy in full contemporary morocco, made for Madame Ernest Persil. It bears this autograph dispatch signed by the author on the first white cover:

Some wear and tear to the binding, not serious.
