[CASTLE OF LA MUETTE] Louis-Pierre-Maximilien,... - Lot 2 - Ader
[CASTLE OF LA MUETTE] Louis-Pierre-Maximilien, marquis de BÉTHUNE (1685-1761) grandson of the great Sully. P.S., Paris January 1, 1713; oblong vellum in-8. As "premier Gentilhomme de la Chambre de Monseigneur Duc de Berry," he signs this receipt for the sum of 900 livres "for the food and maintenance of a coachman and a boy to drive the carriage used to carry the clothes of four pages of the Chambre de Monseigneur" during the year 1712. [In 1717, the Regent bought the Château de la Muette for his daughter the Duchess of Berry, who made it her residence. Following the premature death of the duchess in 1719, the Regent offered the castle to the young King Louis XV: from 1724 to 1734, ten royal children were born there].
