19th century GERMAN OR FRENCH ECOLE Sixth living painting after Victor Hugo's Lazzara, a performance given in Munich at his private residence on June 16, 1836 by the French minister plenipotentiary Paul-Charles-Amable de Bourgoing (1791-1864) Watercolor gouache, black pencil. Signed indistinctly in black pencil at the bottom right. Inscription on the mount at the bottom: "Representation in 6 paintings from a ballad by Victor Hugo entitled Lazzara given in Munich in June 1836, the year of my marriage to Miss Ida de Lotzbeck". 24,6 x 33 cm Provenance : Paul-Charles-Amable de Bourgoing (1791-1864), minister plenipotentiary of France in Munich, drawing from his album amicorum.
