Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) The Sculptor's Rest and the Model with Mask (Suite Vollard, pl. 50). March 27, 1933. Etching. 190 x 265 [330 x 442]. Bloch 159; Baer 312 between A and B. A perfect trial proof on Montval laid paper, before steeling, prior to the 1939 edition of 260 proofs, signed in pencil. Annotation in pencil in the hand of H. M. Petiet at the foot under the signature: "Essai avant aciérage". A tiny black dot in the right margin. All margins untrimmed. Provenance: Ambroise Vollard (1866-1939) then H. M. Petiet (1894-1980).
