[ENLUMINATION]. [CHOIR BOOK]. Leaf from a choir book. Ornate initial E and decorated border (in view). Tempera, ink and liquid gold on parchment. France, probably Paris, around 1500. Dimensions : 160 x 200 mm Fragment pasted in full on the back on soft cardboard; some oxidation in the borders. This fragment comes from a large choir book not unlike the Gradual of Louis XII and Anne of Brittany of the same period (circa 1500-1510) [see N. The grotesque figure in the margin is highly individualized and may help to find other related leaves to match the present fragment.
