In his chronicle of the Mercure de France of December 1911, Guillaume Apollinaire describes Le Passant as follows: " André Blandin and Louis Piérard have just created in Brussels, the fantasy journal which was missing in the country of Tyl l'Espiègle. They called it Le Passant. Humor is mixed with lyricism, caricatures alternate with serious drawings, it is a new attempt and Le Passant does not remind any newspaper in France, nor I think in any other country.
