Pierre Etienne Daniel Campagne (1851-1914 ?) Bacchus as a child or Autumn Bronze with brown patina Signed "Campagne" on the right shoulder H : 54 cm A student of Alexandre Falguière at the École des Beaux-Arts, he made his debut at the Salon des Artistes français in 1889 and obtained an honorable mention at the Salon in 1890. He produced a heterogeneous production of portraits, genre subjects, allegories and obtained public commissions such as the recumbent of the Duke of Nemours in the Royal Chapel of Dreux. He had great success with his model of Phryne before the judges, produced in various materials, marble and bronze. He also produced several models for the Val d'Osne foundry.
