L.A.S., St. Helena November 27, 1817, to Sir Hudson Lowe, governor and commander-in-chief; 1 page in-fol. in English (wetness). On Napoleon's health on St. Helena. Called yesterday to pay a visit to the Countess Montholon and Count Bertrand's daughter at Longwood, he then spoke with Count Bertrand about Napoleon Bonaparte's health. Bertrand said that he thought the Emperor looked worse every time he saw him, and his complexion more yellow. He felt that even if his complaints were not immediately dangerous, he would certainly feel the effects of his lifestyle as long as he lived.
