Treaties of CATEAU-CAMBRÉSIS. Manuscript, Despeches de la negociation de la paix conclue à Castel Cambresis...; 112 ff. fol. in folio, bound in soft parchment at the end of the 17th century, with a calligraphic title on the upper cover (some tears in the binding). Late 17th century copy (1698?) of these dispatches from 1558-1559 concerning the diplomatic negotiations that led to the signing of treaties on March 12, April 2 and 3, 1559 between Henry II and Elizabeth of England, and between Henry II and Philip II of Spain. The complete title is: Despeches de la negociation de la paix conclue à Castel Cambresis entre le Roy Henry, et le Roy Philippe d'Espaigne ou est aussi comprise la Reyne d'Angleterre. The first dispatch to Henry II dates from October 12, 1558, the last from March 13, 1559; two others are dated March 2 and 23, 1558. Follows the Traicté de paix avec le Roy d'Espaigne faict à Chastel Cambresis le iii jour d'avril mil cinq cens cinquante neuf apres Pasques, incomplete of the end.
