Natural history alphabet to teach children to read. No address, place, or date. [Circa 1853]. (13.2 x 8.5 cm). Leporello of (24) engraved and stenciled plates: publisher's light green paper boards, engraved label, bearing the title in a colored floral frame, applied to the first board. Entirely engraved and stenciled alphabet. Twenty-four plates of birds, butterflies and flowers with captions in three languages: French, Spanish and English. One plate per letter also engraved, (I, J, on the same plate, no W) carries the initial of the animal and flower described: Eagle, Snowball, Ciris, Dalia... A young Emilie inscribed, in 1853, a kind of calendar of the days and made a nice child drawing on the reverse. Attractive little book. Covers rubbed, old consolidation on a fold.
