Tables of a new Primer with Colored Figures. Without address, place or date. [France. ca. 1810]. (10.2 x 7 x 2.2 cm). Contemporary cardboard box covered with pale pink paper, two labels applied to the upper side, one bearing the title and the second, illustrated with a writer seated at his table, hand-colored with stencil [L'Art d'écrire]. It contains 25/25 engraved and stenciled cards with bright orange and red coloring, square corners, muted spine. Precious primer of twenty-five numbered cards, engraved, colored and illustrated with figures in foot with two occurrences per card. The name of the character at the head and the second occurrence, at the foot, framed by its capital and small letter. Entirely engraved and hand colored with stencil in a light yellow frame. From A, Harlequin, Watering Can [With Harlequin watering] to Zaïm (Turkish), Zebra. Chinese, Danish, Spanish [the Cover Writer], Italian, Japanese [sic], Kan (Prince), Swimming Negrillon, etc. Very nice complete set dating from the early 19th century with very vivid colors. The stencils are enhanced with fine brush strokes.
