Small square in-8 (19 x 19 cm). 28 pp. : soft card covers, green water frame, a hippopotamus on the first, publisher's catalog on the second. Unique edition. Vera Braun (Budapest 1902-1997 Paris), Hungarian painter, worked with André Lhote and Fernand Léger. One of her works is in the Museum of Modern Art in Paris. One of the rare albums of the collection, launched by the Nrf in 1935, combining fiction and documentation for children. The first page is an index of animals illustrated in alphabetical form. One color lithographed animal per page with the initial of the caption in red and the verb qualifying its cry. Letter from the artist on the back cover, dated 1937, to the Belgian writer Sander Pierron "as a sign of sincere gratitude". In perfect condition.
