A rare and very old divination "object", consisting of a crocodile skull bound, notably with a beautiful braid of vegetable fibers clasping its head, and its divination rubbing tool carved in a very hard wood. The upper part of the crocodile's mouth is deeply worn and polished by the rubbing tool due to the many requests and questions made to the crocodile's mind. Probably Kuba or a surrounding group, Democratic Republic of Congo Crocodile skull, wood, vegetable fibers, very nice and old patina of use.
