PAUL JOUVE (18787-1973) Mickey the cat and his little Dady, circa 1945 Oil on cardboard. Sold in a marie-louise and with a modern frame with large molding and silver leaf. Signed JOUVE, in red at the bottom left, titled and bears Belgian customs stamps on the back and a dedication. Work alone at sight : 33,5 x 48,5 cm - With frame : 55 x 70 cm History: Throughout his life, Jouve painted portraits of his pets living in the studio; here his cat Mickey with one of its young. The artist exhibited this work in two exhibitions that were entirely dedicated to him, before offering it in 1958 to Mademoiselle M. Exhibitions : - Paul Jouve - Galerie Giraudo, avenue de l'Opéra, Paris, from June 6 to 21, 1946. - Paul Jouve - Royal Society of Zoology of Antwerp, from June 24 to July 12, 1954 - Work presented under number 84 of the catalog.
