Large bowl decorated with a frieze of leaves, Eastern Samanid Iran, 10th century Large truncated cone-shaped bowl on a circular foot in clay ceramic decorated with polychrome engobes on cream slip under a transparent glaze, forming a band of foliate leaves arranged in pairs on a background of red rinceaux x underlined by a line of brown glaze flowing towards the center marked with a dot. Diameter: 25 cm Reglued breaks. A bowl with a similar palette and decorative elements is preserved in the al-Sabah collection of the Kuwait National Museum (LNS 525 C).
