Two bowls with vegetal decoration, Iran or Timurid Central Asia, 15th - 16th century
Two hemispherical flared-lip bowls on small circular feet, in siliceous ceramic with underglaze painted decoration, in black on the large bowl decorated with a central medallion with floral decoration, stems coiled into a band under the lip and unfurled on the outer body, in cobalt blue on the small bowl decorated with a rosette surrounded by curved lines and concentric circles repeated on the outer wall.
Diameter: 20 cm and 14.8 cm
Reglued cracks, restorations, small missing parts, notably on the foot of the small bowl.
A bowl in the British Museum, London (1913,0414.9) with similar decoration to the blue and white bowl is attributed to 16th-century Iran.
