Large porcelain dish, Compagnie des Indes, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) for the Iranian market, dated 1879 Large oval dish in white porcelain, decorated with a central painted foliage medallion containing a Persian nasta'liq inscription, the border highlighted with three bands, a leaf frieze, a band of gilded crosses on an orange background and a gilded garland. The inscription gives the context of the commission: "Mister Moshir Al-Mulk made the waqf (of this object) for the ceremony of the Tazieh of the Prophet's family, 1297 H/1879". 43 x 34 cm Some polychromy and chips.
