Rondache separ, Iran qâjâr, late 19th century Circular steel shield with four domed bosses with floral base emerging from acid-etched, regrafted and partially gold-inlaid decoration. Four groups of kneeling figures on either side of medallions with gold-embellished appendages, converge around a central medallion decorated with pseudo-inscriptions, friezes of foliage, floral cartouches or figures at the edges. Diameter: 47.3 cm Later silver-plated interior. Attached is a steel bazu-band cuff with acid-etched decoration of animals, a figure and a solar face on a plant background, and inscriptions in cartouches around the perimeter.
