Peshkabz dagger, Iran qâjâr, 19th century Single-edged curved blade in damascus steel, chased on the heel with bifid palmettes scrolls forming a poly-lobed half-lambrequin. On the flat back, engraved decoration of floral scrolls and on either side, at the start of the blade, a discreet gold-encrusted inscription giving the name of its owner Muhammad. Steel handle and scabbard with engraved and champlevé decoration of busts of figures and birds, alone or in pairs, against a background of floral foliage.
