Jean de BOSSCHÈRE (1878-1953). 10 L.A.S.,... - Lot 37 - Ader
Jean de BOSSCHÈRE (1878-1953). 10 L.A.S., 2 L.S. and 6 postcards a.s., Paris, 1935-1938, to Pierre Lhoste; 18 pages in-8 and in-12, 2 on the letterhead of Mouches à Miel, addresses. The letters accompany the sending of texts, notes or drawings, or fix appointments. Bosschère announces the publication of the 1st number of Mouches à Miel with "a beautiful poem of André Suarès" [1937]. He will spend a few months at the home of the philosopher Leone Vivante in Siena, in the former castle of the Piccolomini, "a sort of earthly paradise"; he has already written two books there, Satan the Obscure, published in 1934, and Peacocks and Other Wonders, which "speak above all of my house in Rome, where I have lived for four years. This time I intend to write L'Obscur à Paris [published in 1937] in Siena, which is visions and reflections of the hero of Satan the Obscure. Enclosed are 6 pages of typed notes or articles (two signed), with a few erasures and corrections, on his work, a subscription form for L'Obscur à Paris (Denoël, 1937), and an engraving.
