Francis CARCO (1886-1958).13 L.A.S. and 5 postcards a.s., 1934-1955, mostly to Pierre Lhoste; 22 pages various sizes, some addresses. Friendly correspondence, beginning with encouragement to the young poet (August 10, 1934). - August 7, 1935, before his departure for vacation in the Lot, "the most literary department there is"; he discusses his recent works: Brumes, the adaptation for Pitoëff of La Femme sans nom, a Danish play, Printemps d'Espagne... He begins a book of memories, Montmartre à vingt ans, and is going to start on a "great reportage Hommes seuls," and a detective novel, L'Homme de minuit; then he announces his next trip to Egypt, "my second homeland."-In April 1937, 3 postcards from Alexandria and Cairo (one to Maurice Donnay). - August 27, 1937, on Mists, one of his favorite books, which takes place "in Antwerp and Amsterdam... a mixture of these two cities", and his next publications. - 2 letters of greetings are illustrated with a drawing of his self-portrait. - April 9, 1948, congratulations to P. Humbourg for his Bar de minuit passé, "which has just obtained a prize so perfectly awarded" .... Etc. A prospectus from Bobino, an illustrated invitation, 2 business cards, and an envelope to Henry Torrès are attached.
