ORDER OF THE TEMPLE Jewel of dignitary. In gilt bronze and enamel. Articulated crown of the Germanic type with remains of ermine paint. Cross with four double enamelled white branches (chips) with inner cross (missing red enamel). 94 x 65 mm B. Early 19th century. This jewel belonged to a high dignitary of the "modern" order of the Temple, reinstated by Fabré Pelaprat under the First Empire. This type of insignia is found on the statutes and swords of the order.
