FRANÇOIS I (1708-1765) Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. Letters patent, signed by Count Emmanuel de Vihecourt, Tuscia, March 17, 1756; vellum, broadsheet (50 x 68 cm), with decorated header and initials, large red wax seal with arms (13.5 cm) hanging on red cords, in turned boxwood case; in Latin.
Solemn act confirming all rights and privileges granted in 1559 by Cosimo I to a hermitage in the Sienese mountains: "Tenutam Eremi al Vivo", (Eremo del Vivo), in favor of Archbishop Alessandro Cervini (1695-1771). Perfect condition, except for two foxing marks on upper corners.
