Jean JAURÈS (1859-1914). 2 L.A.S., [1904 and n.d., to Anatole France]; 2 pages in-8 headed Chambre des Députés, and 1 page in-12, pneumatic card with address on back (framed). Attached is a printout, Jean Jaurès par Anatole France, March 26, 1919 (2 fol. pages under glass). June 14, about an official trip to Belgium. His friend, the Belgian MP Léon Furnemont, is "Chairman of the commission that is to receive delegates from the Universités Populaires in Brussels on July 13 and 14". The latter "have expressed the hope to our Belgian friends that you will accompany the delegation. Furnemont would be delighted to tell you what a joy and pride it will be for all Belgian socialists and liberals to welcome you." .... [February 3, 1904]. He apologized for not having informed him of the postponement of their meeting until next Tuesday: "I am sorry for this and offer you a thousand apologies, to which I add once again my sincere gratitude for the assistance you have given us. It is a great honor for me [...] and a great joy"...
