Beautiful and interesting document from the aftermath of the "Mad War", in which the future King of France, then Duke of Orleans, Milan and Valois, clashed with Regent Jeanne de Beaujeu, daughter of Louis XI.
Order of payment given at the request of the children of the late Jean Boudet, Comptroller General of Finances, for sums paid in his name and that of the Duke of Bourbon (Jean II, 1456-1488)... "During the time we were in Bretaigne with the late nre treschier Seigneur and cousin le duc dont Dieu ait lame qui fut es années mil cccc quatrevings et six, quatrevings et sept et quatrevings et huit ledit feu Jehan Boudet fut par nous commis et eut la charge de faire les paiemens de nre tresorerie et argenterie et chambre aux deniers et autres fraiz et charges qui nous convenoit lors faire audit audit pays de Bretaigne"... These payments were made in favor of Sieur de Lestrange, Jehan de Vaulx and Bertrand Prévost, the Count of Dunois's silversmith...
