Mela MUTER (1876-1967) Raymond Lefebvre, unfinished portrait, circa 1917-1920 Oil on canvas. Signed on the back. 93 x 93 cm We would like to thank Mrs. Urszula Lazowski for the information she provided. Mela Muter met Raymond Lefebvre in 1917 and maintained an intimate relationship with him until his death in 1920. He disappeared while on delegation to the Third International in Moscow. There are a few unfinished portraits of Muter from the same period: Portrait d'Ambroise Vollard and Stefan Zeromski.
