Bourguignotte Detaille" infantry crest trial helmet. Silver-plated metal shell. Crest, band, rivets and chinstrap with scales on brass leather. Tricolor cockade. Inner leather cap with wolf's teeth. With collector's label in pen "Projet de casque pour l'infanterie française par Edouard Detaille, 1912". A.B.E. History: Trial helmet presented to and worn by three companies of the 28th Infantry Regiment. Kept at La Pépinière in Paris on July 14, 1912, during the review at the Longchamp racecourse.
