Banque Rothschild was founded by Jacob Mayer, known as James de Rothschild, one of the five sons of Mayer Amschel, the founder of the Rothschild dynasty. The bank played an important role in the July Monarchy, stabilizing its finances through major loans in 1830 and 1834.
In particular, Banque Bethmann financed part of the construction of the Eiffel Tower.
