[PESSAH] Pewter Seder dish. Rhine Valley, dated in Hebrew 1772. Angel hallmarks on reverse. Diameter: 39 cm On the rim of the dish is engraved in Hebrew and Judeo-German characters that this dish belongs to Aharon son of Zalman from the town of Albertsweiler and his wife Mirelé daughter of Avraham from the town of Brika. On the marli are the traditional Hebrew inscriptions announcing the sequences of the Pesach evening. The basin is engraved with an 8-pointed star at the center of which is the Paschal lamb. Between the points of the star is a decoration of flowers and birds. The signature of Zalman son of Aharon d'Albersveiler, the father of the plate's owner, appears on a manuscript of rabbinic commentaries dated 1752.
