Magnificent copy of this trilingual journal (English, French, German), in which Stéphane Mallarmé's "Un Coup de Dés jamais n'abolira le Hasard" first appeared, 17 years before its publication by Éditions de La Nouvelle Revue Française. The editors of Cosmopolis present the publication of this masterpiece as follows: "Wishing to be as eclectic in literature as in politics, and to justify itself against the reproach that it has been made of ignoring the new French poetic school, the editors of Cosmopolis offer their readers a previously unpublished poem by Stéphane Mallarmé, the undisputed master of Symbolist poetry in France. In this entirely new work, the poet has endeavored to make music out of words. The unity of the poem is formed by a sort of unfolding general leitmotif, with accessory motifs grouped around it. The nature of the characters used and the position of the blanks make up for musical notes and intervals. This essay may have its opponents: no one will fail to recognize the author's singular artistic effort, and no one will fail to be interested. "
