Mme Henriette DAVIN-MIRVAULT (Paris, 1773 - Paris, 1844) Portrait of Archduchess Marie-Louise, Empress of France, half-body to the left, in low-cut white dress, orange sash, pearl comb in raised hairstyle Miniature on ivory signed on the left: DAVIN Circled in gilded brass in a gilded wood frame, oval 8.9 x 8 cm Total weight: 4.3 g (small amount of mold) A student of Suvée, David and J-B.J Augustin, she exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1798 to 1822, and won medals in 1804 and 1814. Provenance: Probably from the coll. L. de Cibeins, then Mme J. Brasseur sale, Drouot, April 15, 1921, no. 7 (unrepresented but same dimensions) : L'archiduchesse Marie-Louise en buste de 3/4 à gauche, en robe blanche décolletée, des perles dans sa chevelure, S.b.g.
