It presents a very different text from the definitive version, classified in the "Greece and Sicily" section of Les Trophées. This sonnet, here untitled, is written in fine purple ink, probably from the early 1860s. "Phoibos disheveled toward the horizon descends, And in the golden powder he lifts as he passes, Holds to the seashore the fierce carriage Of stallions arched against the incandescent sky"...
