Sanctes Pagninus. Precationes aliquot celebriores e Sacris Bibliis desumptae, ac in studiosum gratiam lingua Hebraica, Graeca et Latina in Enchiridii formulam redactae. Paris, Martin le Jeune, 1554, one vol. small in-8, 363 p., original full brown calf binding, double gilt fillet framing the boards, large gilt Renaissance motif in the center of each board, four-rib spine decorated with gilt fillets and fleurons in the inter-ribs, gilt and chased edges (some foxing, corners of the first f. restored without affecting the text, small stains on the boards). A fine copy, rare in this condition.
Very enlarged trilingual edition of the "Precationes" first published in 1528 by Sébastien Gryphe. On four columns, extracts from the Septuagint, their anonymous Latin translation, the Latin translation of Sanctes Pagninus and the Hebrew text appear. This collection was intended for young people learning the Hebrew language.
